| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Diocletian facing right, rendered with fine engraving characteristic of the late third-century imperial portrait tradition. The emperor's features are boldly modelled, with a short beard and a radiate laurel wreath crowning the head. The paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder, and the cuirass is visible at the truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C C VAL DIOCLETIANVS AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan, separated by a decorative stop. |

| Reverse description | Jupiter standing left in a commanding pose, his nude or semi-draped figure occupying the central field. In his extended right hand he holds a thunderbolt directed downward, while his left hand rests on a long vertical sceptre. The deity's stance conveys divine authority, consistent with Diocletian's adoption of Jovian ideology. The reverse legend IOVI CONSERVATORI SC arcs around the field, and the mintmark SC appears in the exergue, identifying the Cyzicus mint. |
