| 表面の説明 | Laureate and bearded head of Diocletian facing right, rendered with strong portraiture characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The emperor's short-cropped hair and beard are rendered in fine detail, conveying a sense of martial authority. The obverse legend DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG runs around the periphery, beginning at the lower left and continuing clockwise, separated from the coin's edge by a fine beaded border. The portrait exhibits the blocky, frontal power typical of late Roman imperial coinage, with a sturdy neck and clipped neckline visible at the bust truncation. |

| 表面の銘文 | DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG |
| 裏面の説明 | Jupiter, nude to the waist and draped below, seated facing with head turned, holding a thunderbolt in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left hand. At his feet to the left, an eagle stands as his divine attribute. The reverse legend IOVI CONSERVAT (To Jupiter the Preserver) runs around the periphery, alluding to the Tetrarchic ideology linking Diocletian to Jupiter as his divine patron. The mintmark of the Treveri mint (Augusta Treverorum), indicating the first officina, appears in the exergue, enclosed within the beaded border. |
