The hero's muscular physique is rendered in the vigorous Tetrarchic style. The legend VIRTVS AVG*G* encircles the scene, invoking the martial valor of the Augusti. A mintmark appears in the exergue, identifying the issue to the Augusta Treverorum (Trier) mint. The design conveys the Herculian dynastic ideology promoted by Constantius I under the Tetrarchy. |
