| Obverse description | Bare-necked, laureate bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered with characteristic realism in the Julio-Claudian portrait tradition, the wreath of bay leaves rendered in fine detail atop curled hair. The truncation of the bust is plain. A continuous circular legend in Latin surrounds the effigy within a beaded border, recording the emperor's full titulature including his tribunician power and acclamation as imperator. |

| Reverse description | Three lines of bold Latin legend — S P Q R / P P / OB C S — inscribed within a civic oak wreath (corona civica), tied at the base with a ribbon or bow. The wreath, composed of oak leaves and acorns, is rendered in high relief and fills nearly the entire field. A beaded border runs along the outer edge. The composition honours Claudius as Pater Patriae and saviour of the citizens, a traditional senatorial tribute. |
