| Obverse description | Bare-headed and laureate draped bust of Divus Claudius facing right, rendered in the idealized portrait style characteristic of Trajanic restoration coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's distinctive physiognomy with curled hair surmounted by a wreath of laurel, with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder.
