Reverse description The personification of Constantia, embodying the steadfastness and resolution of the emperor, is depicted seated to the left upon an ornate curule chair, her draped figure rendered with carefully incised folds of fabric. Her right arm is raised with an outstretched hand in a gesture of affirmation or address, while her left hand rests upon her lap. The curule chair rests upon a low footstool, and the elaborate legs of the chair are clearly articulated. The Latin legend CONSTANTIAE AVGVSTI arcs around the upper periphery, with a beaded border framing the entire composition.
