| Beschrijving keerzijde | Within a beaded border, the field displays two sacrificial implements side by side: at left, a jug (capis or simpulum) with a globular body, narrow neck, and looped handle; at right, a lituus (augural staff) with a characteristic curved upper end, its shaft extending vertically. These instruments evoke the religious and augural authority of the moneyer. In the lower portion of the field, the moneyer's name is inscribed in two horizontal lines reading LENTVLVS above SPINT, identifying Publius Cornelius Lentulus Spinther, the quaestor pro praetore responsible for the issue. The composition is austere and heraldic, with the implements occupying the upper field and the legend the lower. |
