| Beschrijving keerzijde | A combined military and naval trophy erected upon a tree trunk at centre, composed of a helmet, cuirass, sword, spears, and a shield, symbolising victory over both land and sea forces. At the base of the trophy, naval spoils are depicted including a rudder, boat prows, and shields. The letter L appears to the left among the spears, serving as a mint or magistrate mark. The moneyer's name CASCA LONGVS — identifying Publius Servilius Casca Longus, one of Caesar's assassins — is inscribed on both sides of the trophy in the field. The whole design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
