(Translation: Turpilianus Triumvir Feriundo. [Publius Petronius] Turpilianus Triumvir, moneyer (Triumvir Monetalis) for striking coins.)
Reverse description Two-line inscription enclosed within a prominently rendered oak wreath (corona civica), the leaves and acorns depicted with fine naturalistic detail in the hammered relief. The legend AVGVSTO OB C S is arranged across two lines within the wreath, the dedicatory text referencing the civic crown awarded to Augustus by the Senate in 27 BC for saving the lives of Roman citizens. The wreath composition occupies the majority of the reverse field, with a beaded border visible along the coin's edge. The design is deliberately symbolic, evoking Augustus's role as savior of Rome and the constitutional honors granted to him at the foundation of the Principate.
