Obverse description Bare-necked laureate bust of Augustus facing left, rendered in fine high relief with naturalistic detail to the hair and wreath. The obverse legend is disposed in two segments around the portrait within a beaded border, reading AVGVSTVS to the left and DIVI F to the right. The modelling of the facial features is crisp and idealized, consistent with the Augustan classicizing tradition of coin portraiture.
