Reverse description A Roman eagle stands facing with wings spread wide, positioned atop a wreath rendered in fine detail. The eagle, a powerful symbol of Roman imperial authority and Jupiter, is depicted with its head turned to the right and talons firmly gripping the wreath. The letters S and C (Senatus Consultum) appear in the lower field on either side of the wreath, flanking the eagle's base. The legend AVGVSTVS curves around the upper periphery of the flan. The overall composition is boldly struck and symmetrical, conveying the majesty and divine sanction of Augustan rule.
