正面描述 Bare head of Julius Caesar facing left, rendered in the Roman colonial portrait tradition with classicizing features. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, naming the duoviri magistrates responsible for the issue. The flan is irregular and the surface shows typical patination consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Augustan period.

附加信息

Corinth's Roman colony, refounded by Julius Caesar in 44 BC and formally designated Colonia Laus Iulia Corinthiensis, was among the earliest provincial mints to respond to Octavian's assumption of the title Augustus in January 27 BC. This issue, struck within months of that constitutional settlement, reflects the colony's eagerness to align itself publicly with the new order — Corinth owed its very existence to Caesar's family, and the pairing of Augustus with the deified Julius on colonial bronze was both political calculation and genuine dynastic loyalty.
