Reverse description The central field bears the denomination inscription ASSIS in large raised letters across the middle of the inner circle, surmounted by a trefoil floral ornament and flanked by small decorative stops; the date 1708 appears below in bold numerals, with a further foliate ornament beneath. The circumferential legend DOMINE·CONSERVA·NOS·IN·PACE — 'Lord, preserve us in peace' — runs around the outer border in raised Latin capitals separated by rosette stops. The design is bounded by a prominent dentilated rim consistent with the milled technique employed at the Basel Mint.
