| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view seen from the rear, revealing the elaborate detailing of the cuirass. The radiate crown is rendered with prominent spikes. The encircling Greek legend reads M ANT ΓOPΔIANOC A(YΓ), identifying the emperor by name and title, disposed around the periphery of the flan. |
