| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Phrygia. The imperial effigy displays bold, finely modelled facial features with the characteristic laurel wreath bound about the brow. The encircling Greek legend names Claudius Caesar and the citizens of Aezani, distributed around the periphery of the flan. |

| Reverse description | Zeus standing in full figure to the left, depicted in a dignified, frontal-facing pose with head turned slightly left. The deity holds an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre in his left hand, a standard iconographic type widely employed in Phrygian civic coinage. The Greek magistrate legend is inscribed in the field to either side of the figure, referencing the local strategos Claudius Hierax under whose authority the coin was struck. |
