Reverse description Half-length frontal figure of the emperor, crowned with a jewelled stemma and vested in the loros, the imperial ceremonial scarf-like garment richly decorated. The ruler holds in his right hand a cross-tipped sceptre and in his left hand a globus cruciger, emblems of sovereign authority rendered in the Byzantine court style characteristic of the Latin Kingdom of Thessalonica mint issues of the early thirteenth century.
