| Reverse description | The reverse bears a central cartouche in elegant nasta'liq script reading 'Banda-yi Shah-i Wilayat Husayn' (Servant of the King of Sainthood, Husayn), identifying the issuing ruler. Below the central legend, the mint name Isfahan (اصفهان) and the AH date 1117 are inscribed. The entire central design is framed by an elaborate floral arabesque border comprising interlacing vegetal scrollwork with stylised blossoms, a hallmark of Safavid decorative art. An outer marginal legend in nasta'liq runs within the surrounding wreath border. The overall composition reflects the refined artistic conventions of the Isfahan royal mint at the height of Safavid coinage. |
