| Beschrijving voorzijde | Hammered gold flan bearing a four-line Persian poetic legend in elegant Nasta'liq calligraphy, arranged within the field without a formal border. The inscription reads as a panegyric verse glorifying Mahmud Shah as world-conqueror, with the mint name Zarb Isfahān (struck at Isfahan) appearing in the lower portion of the field. The script is deeply struck and boldly rendered across the slightly irregular flan, characteristic of early 18th-century Afghan Hotak coinage. |
