| Obverse description | Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in the austere, realistic portrait style characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. A small globe is depicted at the truncation of the neck, symbolising universal dominion. The effigy is boldly modelled with strong facial features, set within a circular field. The surrounding legend is distributed along the coin's periphery in capital Latin characters. The flan displays the typical irregular shape and green patination associated with hammered bronze aes coinage of this period. |
