Reverse description The goddess Victoria depicted standing facing left, rendered in flowing drapery with large spread wings rising behind her. She holds a wreath extended in her right hand and a palm branch in her left, the palm resting against her left shoulder. Victoria stands on a low base or prow, her figure occupying the central field of the coin. The senatorial authorisation marks S C (Senatus Consultum) are placed prominently to either side of the central figure in the mid-field. The encircling legend VICTORIA AVGVSTI runs around the upper periphery, attributing the victory to the reigning emperor.
