Reverse description The personification of Securitas (Security), draped, is depicted seated to the right upon a throne or chair, her head resting contemplatively upon her raised right hand in a pose of calm repose, while her left hand holds a long sceptre. The figure is rendered with flowing drapery and conveys a sense of imperial stability and peace. The senatorial mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the field, flanking the central design, as was customary on Flavian aes coinage authorised by the Senate.
