| Beschrijving keerzijde | Standing figure of Pax, the personification of Peace, depicted facing left in long draped robes. She extends an olive branch in her right hand and holds a caduceus in her left, both attributes emblematic of peace and prosperity. The legend PAX AVGVST is distributed in the field to either side of the figure, while the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears flanking the lower portion of the design. The composition reflects the Flavian dynastic emphasis on the restoration of peace following the civil wars of AD 69. |
