(Translation: Imperator Caesar Vespasianus Augustus, Consul Tertium. Supreme commander (Imperator) Caesar Vespasian, emperor (Augustus), consul for the third time.)
Reverse description The personification of Libertas stands facing left in the central field, draped in a flowing stola, holding a pileus (liberty cap) in her right hand and a long sceptre or staff in her left. The figure is rendered in a dignified, upright stance typical of Flavian allegorical types. The legend LIBERTAS PVBLICA is distributed across the field, with the large senatorial mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanking the figure to either side, affirming senatorial authorization of the bronze coinage. A beaded border encircles the design. The reverse carries a green and brown patina with areas of verdigris consistent with the coin's age and burial history.
