Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, depicted with characteristic realistic portraiture of the Flavian dynasty, showing the emperor's strong, mature features. The bust is draped, presented in right profile. A Latin circular legend surrounds the effigy along the rim, reading IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG P M TR P. The die engraving reflects the vigorous, naturalistic style adopted at the Rome Mint in the early Flavian period.

Reverse description The personification of Aequitas, goddess of equity and fair dealing, stands facing left in full figure, draped in a long chiton. She holds a set of scales in her raised right hand and a long vertical rod or sceptre in her left hand. The large senatorial authority marks S and C (Senatus Consultum) flank the central figure on left and right respectively. The legend COS ITER TR POT is distributed around the upper field, and the overall composition is characteristic of early Flavian bronze coinage struck at Rome.
