Reverse description The personification of Aequitas (Equity) stands in full figure facing left, draped in a long chiton and palla. In her extended right hand she holds a pair of scales, symbolising fairness and just measure, while her left hand grasps a long vertical rod or sceptre. The legend AEQVITAS AVGVST arcs around the upper field, while the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the lower field to either side of the figure, affirming that this bronze issue was struck by decree of the Senate.
