The senatorial authorization monogram S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the lower field to either side of the figure, as was standard practice for Roman aes coinage. The surrounding legend AEQVITAS AUGUSTI is largely worn but discernible around the upper periphery of the heavily patinated flan. |
