Reverse description Standing figure of Aequitas, the personification of equity and fair dealing, depicted facing left in long draped robes. She holds a scales (libra) in her raised right hand and a long sceptre or cornucopia in her left hand, attributes emblematic of just measure and imperial abundance. The senatorial authorization monogram S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the lower field to either side of the figure, as was standard practice for Roman aes coinage. The surrounding legend AEQVITAS AUGUSTI is largely worn but discernible around the upper periphery of the heavily patinated flan.
