Claudia Leucas — the island of Lefkada off the Acarnanian coast — held the unusual administrative status of a double community, reflected directly in the coin's lengthy ethnic inscription naming both the Claudians and the Leucadians. The countermark ΕΝ applied to this Trajanic bronze almost certainly represents a revalidation strike by local magistrates, extending the coin's official circulation life within a small provincial economy where fresh supply from Rome was irregular at best.
