| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with characteristic strong features and a prominent laurel wreath. The effigy displays the emperor in heroic Imperial style with visible drapery over the left shoulder. The surrounding legend runs clockwise from the lower left, naming Trajan with his full Imperial titulature including the honorific Optimus and his conquest titles Germanicus, Dacicus, and Parthicus.
