| Obverse lettering | T CAESAR VESPASIANVS TR P COS VI (Translation: Titus Caesar, Vespasianus, Tribunicia Potestate, Consul Sextum. Titus Caesar, Vespasian, holder of tribunician power, consul for the sixth time.) |
| Reverse description | Standing figure of Spes (Hope) depicted in the round, facing left, clad in a long draped garment. She raises her right hand lifting the hem of her robe in the characteristic pose of this personification, while holding a flower or blossom in her left hand. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is positioned in the field to either side of the figure, S to the left and C to the right. The reverse field is plain with no exergual inscription, and the overall style is consistent with the Flavian bronze coinage of the Rome mint. The type evokes themes of optimism and dynastic continuity associated with the Flavian regime. |
