Reverse description The personification of Spes (Hope) is depicted standing in full figure, facing left, draped in a long tunic and mantle, her right hand raised and extended forward holding a flower, her left hand gathering her drapery at the hip. The legend S C (Senatus Consultum) is placed in the field to either side of the central figure, flanked by a beaded border. A second perforation is visible at the bottom of the flan, consistent with the obverse suspension hole. The reverse field displays heavy green patination over the bronze substrate.
