Struck under Vespasian in 77–78 AD but issued in the name of Titus as Caesar, this as belongs to a period when the Flavian dynasty was actively projecting dynastic continuity — Titus had held tribunician power since 71 AD and was being groomed as unambiguous successor. The PROVIDENT reverse type was a deliberate political signal, invoking the providentia of the ruling family rather than any specific policy event.
