| Descrizione del rovescio | The Altar of the Three Gauls (Ara Trium Galliarum) at Lugdunum depicted in frontal view, its facade adorned with a corona civica flanked by nude male figures on either side. Two Victories, each holding a laurel wreath, stand atop columns that flank the altar on left and right. The reverse legend ROM ET AVG appears in the field, dedicating the monument to Rome and Augustus. The composition reflects the important Gallo-Roman cult sanctuary established at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers. |
