Caesaraugusta — modern Zaragoza — was a Roman colony planted on the Ebro by Augustus around 14 BC, and its municipal coinage under Tiberius is notable for the tight rotation of named magistrates across successive issues. The duoviri Fulvianus and his colleague appearing on this piece can be cross-referenced against the broader RPC I sequence to reconstruct something close to a chronological ordering of the city's Tiberian emissions, a rare opportunity in provincial numismatics.
The colony struck no coinage after Caligula. This issue belongs to the final generation of Caesaragustan bronze.
