Reverse description The reverse field is dominated by the large senatorial authorisation monogram S C (Senatus Consulto), boldly rendered in the centre of the flan in the Flavian tradition for aes coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, running along the entire periphery and identifying the issuing authority of Emperor Titus together with the restitution formula. The plain field between the monogram and the legend is unadorned. The overall composition follows the standard Augustan and Julio-Claudian format for bronze denominations, deliberately revived by Titus as a gesture of dynastic legitimacy and monetary restoration.
