Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Nerva facing right, rendered in a naturalistic style typical of Flavian-era portraiture. The emperor's aged features are depicted with characteristic realism, including a lined brow and prominent neck. The legend encircles the portrait along the coin's periphery in Latin capitals. The effigy is set against a flat, unadorned field, consistent with Roman imperial aes coinage of the period.
