Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Nero facing right, rendered with characteristic youthful features including elaborately curled hair arranged in layered waves across the forehead and nape, with a small globe at the base of the neck truncation. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief, displaying the fleshy physiognomy associated with later Neronian coinage. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise from the lower left, separated from the portrait by a finely beaded inner border.
