| Obverse description | Bare-necked, laureate bust of Nero facing right, rendered in the characteristic portraiture style of his later reign with heavy features and layered hair. The effigy is depicted with a draped shoulder visible at the bust truncation. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait in the outer field, naming the emperor with his full titulature. The die work exhibits the bold, high-relief style typical of Neronian bronze coinage struck at the Rome mint. |
