| Descrizione del dritto | Bare-headed, radiate bust of Nero facing right, rendered with characteristic portrait features including heavy jowls and an elaborate coiffure, set within a beaded border. The emperor is depicted with a draped shoulder, the radiate crown lending the portrait a quasi-divine solar quality. The encircling Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, beginning at the lower left and continuing clockwise. The die-work reflects the accomplished engraving style of the Julio-Claudian imperial workshops, with the portrait occupying the majority of the field. |
