| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Nero facing right, with youthful features and characteristic layered hair rendered in low relief. The emperor is depicted without radiate crown, the portrait displaying the fleshy neck and rounded jaw associated with later Neronian portraiture. A circular Latin legend runs along the full periphery of the obverse field, naming the emperor with his full titulature. The coin surface shows typical hammered fabric with slight irregularity in the flan. |
