Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Nero facing right, rendered with characteristic heavy features and layered hair typical of his later portraiture; a small globe is depicted at the truncation of the neck, symbolizing imperial dominion over the world. The effigy is executed in high relief against a flat field, with the legend disposed around the periphery. The portrait displays the broad, fleshy facial style associated with Neronian coinage of the later reign period.

(Translation: Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestas, Imperator. Nero Claudius, Caesar, emperor (Augustus), victor over the Germans, high priest, tribunician power, supreme commander (Imperator).)
Reverse description Full-length figure of Nero represented as Apollo Citharoedus, laureate and draped, striding to the right while playing a lyre held in both hands. The figure is rendered in a dynamic advancing pose, the drapery falling in stylized folds behind the striding legs. The senatorial mark of value S·C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the field to either side of the figure, affirming the senatorial authority under which the bronze coinage was issued. The reverse legend encircles the design, recording Nero's principal titles.
