| Descrizione del dritto | Bare-headed laureate bust of Nero facing left, depicted with characteristic youthful features and curly hair arranged in the Julio-Claudian style, with a draped shoulder visible at the bust truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief with bold, expressive modeling typical of Neronian portraiture. The encircling legend reads NERO CAESAR AVG GERM IMP, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait conveys the imperial gravitas befitting the reigning emperor, with the neck and jaw rendered in a slightly idealised manner consistent with official Roman mint production of the early-to-mid 60s AD. |
