Reverse description The Genius Populi Romani depicted standing left in full figure, clad in a toga, extending a patera in the right hand over a small flaming altar at his feet, and cradling a cornucopiae in the left arm. The figure is rendered in the classical Roman style with careful attention to drapery. The senatorial mark of authority S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the central figure in the field, with the mark I also present. The reverse legend is disposed around the periphery within a beaded border.
