Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Nero facing left, with characteristic youthful features and tousled, layered hair rendered in fine relief. The emperor is depicted with a short beard, consistent with his later portraiture, and lightly draped at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS, distributed around the full circumference of the field. The portrait is boldly modelled in the high-relief style typical of Neronian aes coinage struck at the Rome mint.

Reverse description The Genius of the Emperor (Genius Augusti) stands facing left at centre, depicted as a seminude male figure of heroic proportions, wearing a short cloak (paludamentum) draped over the left shoulder and lower body. In his extended right hand he holds a patera (libation bowl) over a low altar or modius positioned at his feet, while his left arm supports a tall cornucopia resting against his left side. The legend GENIO AVGVSTI arcs around the left field, and AVGVSTI continues to the right, with the large senatorial authorisation marks S and C flanking the figure in the left and right fields respectively.
