Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Nero facing right, with a small globe at the truncation of the neck, rendered in bold relief characteristic of Neronian portraiture. The emperor is depicted with fleshy features, heavy neck, and tightly curled hair arranged in the characteristic multi-tiered fringe above the brow. A circular legend surrounds the effigy, reading NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P, distributed around the field. The portrait projects an authoritative imperial presence consistent with the official court style of the early-to-mid Neronian period.
