| Reverse description | The personification of Fortuna, goddess of fortune and luck, is depicted seated left on a throne or chair, rendered in flowing draped garments. In her right hand she holds a rudder, symbolic of her governance over destiny, resting on a globe, while her left arm supports a cornucopia, emblem of abundance and prosperity. The legend PONT MAX TR POT COS III is distributed around the upper and outer periphery, with the senatorial authority mark SC (Senatus Consultum) placed prominently in the lower field, authorizing the bronze coinage. The composition is well-centered and exhibits the assured classical style characteristic of the Rome mint under Hadrian. |
