Obverse description Draped and laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with characteristic short beard rendered in fine detail, the laureate wreath visible across the brow. The portrait displays the mature, bearded imperial effigy for which Hadrian's coinage is particularly noted, executed in bold relief typical of early Hadrianic bronze issues. The encircling legend runs along the periphery of the flan in crisp Latin capitals. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven at the edges, consistent with hand-struck production of the period.
