| Obverse description | Bare head of Galba facing right, rendered with naturalistic portraiture typical of the Julio-Claudian and Flavian transitional period. The emperor is depicted with strong, aged facial features including a prominent nose and defined jaw. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading from lower left and continuing around the full circumference of the flan. The portrait is set within an unadorned field on a broad, slightly irregular bronze flan characteristic of early imperial as coinage. |

| Reverse description | Standing figure of Pax facing left, draped in long robes, raising her right hand and holding an olive branch or caduceus in her left. The senatorial mark S C (Senatus Consulto) flanks the central figure at mid-field, left and right respectively, as was standard for bronze denominations struck under senatorial authority. The legend PAXS AVGVSTI is distributed around the periphery of the flan. The composition conveys the Augustan iconographic tradition of imperial peace personified, employed by Galba to legitimize his brief reign. |
