| 背面描述 | The personification of Libertas stands in full figure, draped, facing left, in a composed and stately posture. In her raised right hand she holds a pileus (the felt cap symbolising freedom and emancipation), while her left hand extends a vindicta (rod or sceptre), the traditional instruments of manumission in Roman legal ceremony. The figure is rendered in the classical style typical of Neronian and early Flavian senatorial bronze coinage. The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the field to either side of the standing figure, and the legend LIBERTAS PVBLICA encircles the design. |
