Obverse description Bare head of Galba facing right, rendered in a realistic portrait style characteristic of the Julio-Claudian and early Flavian tradition, depicting the emperor as an elderly man with strongly defined features. The effigy is set within a circular field, surrounded by the continuous Latin legend reading SER GALBA IMP CAESAR AVG P M TR P P P. The portrait conveys authority and gravitas befitting Galba's brief but historically significant reign. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the characteristic texture of a hammered bronze issue.
